Memorial of the Kulikovo Field Museum-Reserve on Red Hill

Memorial on the Red Hill of Kulikovo Field is composed of the oldest monument of military glory of Russia - the Monument-Column to Dmitry Donskoy and the Temple-Monument in the name of St. Sergeus of Radonezh. The obelisk which perpetuated the memory of Moscow Grand Duke Dmitry Donskoy, a hero of the Battle of Kulikovo, was designed by the architect A. P. Bryullov and was solemnly opened on the Red Hill on September 8, 1850. In 1913-1917 by initiative of Tula clergy, the Temple-Monument in the name of St. Sergius of Radonezh was erected on Kulikovo Field according to the design of the architect A. V. Shchusev. The Temple-Monument in the name of St. Sergius of Radonezh and the cultural objects on the Red Hill are still open for visitors. There are excursions on the territory of the memorial at any time. It is also possible to take a guided tour of the temple-monument, but not during the Liturgy.
