In the Soviet era, the monument was made in the style of Socialist realism, was situated on Ulitsa Pobedy, and bore the name “Mother and Child”. Quite recently, the monument has been restored and dedicated to a popular Russian idiom, show someone Kuzka’s mother, that means "teach someone a lesson."
