Tula State Circus

The Modern Tula Circus is equipped with up-to-date gear that supports boldest performance programs. The arena is of standard size but can be lowered or raised. Around the arena there are three entrances for patrons and one for artists. The Tula Circus accommodates 2500 patrons in comfortable seats. The spherical dome functions as a sound amplifier, which makes it possible to hear performers without a microphone.

The Tula Circus invites guests to visit the world's largest clown museum exhibiting figures, dolls, and statuettes of mimes of every kind. While waiting for a show, you can take a ride on the 55-meter-tall Ferris wheel at the Maxi shopping mall or take a walk around the Tula Kremlin, which are both nearby.

It is not for nothing that Tula Circus is one of the most famous circuses in Russia. It is believed to have appeared in its stationary form when the Truzzi brothers came to the city in 1894. It was situated on the central street of Tula. In 15 years, the troupe disbanded, and the building and equipment went to the world's greatest wrestler Ivan Poddubny. In 1909 a circus was built not far from the spot it occupies now. The ticket prices were sizeable — from 30 kopecks to 5 roubles! The old building was wooden, had a large arena and an auditorium with a circular expanding layout for 860 seats. It was on the arena of Tula Circus where, at the age of 70, Poddubny gave his final victorious fight. In 1962 the new, modern building opened to artists from all over the world.

In the 21st century, the Tula Circus keeps bringing joy to children and adults alike. Its posters invite you to ice shows, water shows, programs featuring exotic animals, and performances of Russian celebrities.

Circus address: Sovetskaya Street, 96. For admission fees, please call 8 (4872) 31-12-98; normally the fee depends on how far the seats are. During intermission, a concession stand is open, toys are sold, there are photo ops with clowns, and you can swing on an actual circus trapeze!

Цирк большой, вместительной с хорошо продуманной архитектурой. Видно со всех мест. Представление очень понравилось, прекрасные номера, яркие и красивые костюмы. В самом цирке находится интересный музей с игрушками клоунов. Детям тут понравится!
