The Award is organized by the Russian Hotel Association (RGA) with the support of the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation. Today, the RGA includes about 270 organizations that combine about 600 accommodation facilities.
Tula became the winner in the nomination "The best city for conducting the hotel business" in the category of cities with a population of 500 thousand to 1 million people.
"The Tula region has received recognition from the largest industry association for the first time. The National Hotel Award assessed not only the demand for hotel services, but also the conditions that the regional Government and the Tula administration create for new and existing accommodation facilities. Interest in domestic tourism is growing, and the tourist flow is increasing every year. On behalf of Governor Alexey Gennadyevich Dyumin, the most comfortable conditions are being created in the Tula region to attract private investment in the development of tourism infrastructure. The region has a reduced tax rate for the hotel infrastructure and a simplified system for providing land for the hotel business, and a set of government support measures has been developed," said Larisa Solomatina, Chairman of the Regional Committee for Tourism Development.
