The temple was built in the Russian-Byzantine style. It has two altars: in honor of St. George the Victorious and the icon of the Mother of God "Joy to All who Grieve." The construction was carried out at the expense of parishioners and large donors, among whom was Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich Romanov. In 1877, he donated a gilded cross to the dome. Under Soviet rule, the church was closed, but the cross was preserved. Since 2012, the temple has been assigned to the St. Vvedensky Makarievsky Zhabinsky Monastery. It is a historical and cultural monument of regional importance.
