Chernsky Regional Museum of Local Lore named after N.A.Voznesensky
Chernsky Regional Museum of Local Lore named after N.A.Voznesensky
The Chernsky Regional Museum of Local Lore is named after the outstanding statesman, economist Nikolai Alekseevich Voznesensky. The museum was built on the site of the Voznesensky house and opened on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the countryman's birth on December 2, 1983. A bust of Nikolai Alekseevich is installed in front of the museum building. The museum's exposition includes documents, photographs of the Voznesenskys, and objects donated by employees of the USSR State Planning Committee. The exhibition tells about the difficult fate of Voznesensky and his family, the tragic death in connection with the "Leningrad affair". The history of the Cherny region is presented in the exhibition halls. The archaeology hall features witnesses to the most ancient history - stone knives, scrapers, arrowheads, javelins, and axes. The history of the town of Czerny dates back to the time of Ivan the Terrible. A wooden prison was built on the high bank of the Chern River to protect it from the raids of the Tatars. The first Chernyans were serving people – Cossacks, archers, gunners. The "Rabble - the city of all classes" presents authentic objects of peasant labor: a scythe with a hook, sickles, sevalki, bast shoes, a mallet, chests, Tula samovars, pottery from the village of Vetrovo, a model of a Russian stove, a cradle, a mortar with a pestle, a weaving mill, spinning wheels, samples of homespun canvases, items of peasant costume: shirts, pommel, pommel, towels. The everyday life of the burghers and nobles is represented by several pieces of furniture. One of the interesting exhibits of the museum is Ilya Lvovich Tolstoy's hunting rifle. In the hall of the Great Patriotic War, visitors can see photographs, documents, and commendations that tell about the fate of the Chernyans and the events that took place on Cherny land in 1941-1945. The museum's exhibition halls host a variety of temporary exhibitions every month. Cultural, educational, theatrical, and leisure activities are held weekly for children and adults!
