The Monument to the holy pious Peter and Fevronia of Murom was set on the 15th of July, 2012. It is made in bronze by sculptor Konstantin Rodyaslavovich Chernyavsky and donated to Tula region. Such sculptures are installed in some other cities of Russia within the framework of the National Program "In a family circle", created with the blessing of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II in 2004. The purpose of the program is the creation of a positive image of family values, loyal and chaste relationships, love and devotion in marriage. The figure of the hare at the feet of the saints symbolizes the fecundity and the victory of the spiritual beginning over the animal passion; a pigeon in hands of a married couple symbolizes love, peace, meekness and purity.
