We invite you to go with us on a new journey "INSPIRATION BY PAINTING" (the museum of P.N. Krylov and the museum-reserve of V.D. Polenov) .
The new excursion route combines two amazing museums dedicated to the life and work of two outstanding artists of our region - the Porfiry Nikitich Krylov Museum and the V.D. Polenov State Memorial Museum of History, Art and Nature Reserve.
The journey will continue on the picturesque bank of the Oka River, in the Zaoksky district of the Tula region, where the estate of the great Russian artist Vasily Dmitrievich Polenov stands. People come here in search of inspiration, beauty, harmony with themselves and the world around them.
The guests will visit a large house, designed by the artist himself, on the hilltop above the Oka River in 1892, which still retains its original appearance. The Abbey is Polenov's favorite place of work and recreation. The Admiralty is the building of the restored boathouse - the Polenovsky Admiralty – a barn for wintering boats, built according to the half–timbered type in 1895. Since its restoration, the Admiralty has been operating as an exhibition hall for contemporary artists, and it is there that Polenov's amazing work, the diorama, is shown. An exhibition hall has been created in the half-timbered barn, where exhibitions from the museum's funds are organized related to significant events in the life and work of representatives of the Polenov family and the life of the estate. During the tour, you will not only enjoy the picturesque nature of the Tula region, but also learn many interesting facts about the life and work of the great artist.
