During a 1.5 hour walk you will learn...

    • How the city was founded on the banks of the Upa and Tulitsa

    • What the confectionery of Pyotr Kozlov was famous for and where the best Tula candies are sold

    • That glass shop windows are not a new trend, but a well-known tradition for Tula

    • That people used to go to a pharmacy instead of a shop to buy some fruit and mineral water, because such water was considered more suitable not for quenching thirst, but for improving health

    • In Kievskaya Street (former name of Lenin Avenue), you will also discover a romantic love story of Sergey Mosin, the famous designer of the Tula Arms Plant

    • You will find out what things were common for Aleksandr Pushkin, Nikolay Gogol, Leo Tolstoy and Tula

    • You will be surprised that the fates of tragedian Trofim Konstantinov, who graced the cast of the St. Petersburg Imperial Stage with his presence, and brilliant Russian actor Mikhail Shchepkin, are connected with the Tula Theater

    • You will track all the milestones of the history of the city on the Upa River in its architecture

    • You will develop tremendous respect for those who defended the city in the autumn of 1941 and visit the Mother Motherland mourning over the defenders of the city which is the tenth of 13 cities awarded the Gold Star

    • You will find out what cyclism (i.e. cycling) is and why Leo Tolstoy liked it, and where you can now practice this sport to improve your health

    • You will learn about famous Tula artists. In the end of the excursion you will hear a story about the life of Vincent Van Gogh and his relationship with his younger brother Theo.
