Love is Tula, Tula is love

10 February 2023

Romantic guide with some fantastic assumptions

Whether or not to celebrate February 14th is a personal matter for everyone and we are definitely not ready to enter into a debate about this. It's just that we're always on the side of lovers, and we're happy when everyone "falls in love." Therefore, we will give you some recommendations on what to do in Tula on Valentine's Day. And here's another thing: all the locations are real, the characters are unknown, but it would be great if you turned out to be these lovers.

Ice skating in the park

After all, skating is romantic. It doesn't matter if you can double–toe jump or if it's your first time on the ice. The main thing is the atmosphere. Eyes are burning, snowdrifts are shimmering, everyone is happy for each other, nature whispers "Love", and it seems the world is getting more comfortable, at least for the two of you.
There are many skating rinks in Tula, choose one -

Drinking tea on Kazanskaya embankment

Yes, the option requires preparation, but it's worth it.

The manual: take blankets, chairs, a camping table, a tablecloth, delicious herbal tea with ginger, lemon, thyme (ok, maybe any other drink), come to Kazanskaya embankment, chat about TV series and books, laugh and be loved.

The embankment is beautiful, the evening is lamp–like, the weather scares someone. Ideally, treat each other with jam, so that it's Tula-like, but without local snobbery.

Take friends and go to the museum

Tula museums always give something unusual: a photo exhibition in Hime, in L.N.T. from Yasnaya Polyana – you can talk to Lev Nikolaevich personally, in Thiame find out what was treated in the 19th century and why pharmacies of the past are damn photogenic. At the same time, visit the Golden Bee, an exhibition of the best posters from the Moscow International Graphic Design Biennale. You will leave inspired and surprised. We are sure that education and museums are a great gift, and much better than vulgar poems from the Internet and a box of chocolates.

Go to small towns

Small towns have retained their cozy patriarchy, atmosphere and charm. People here are in no hurry, the food is delicious at home, the museums are modernly equipped, scientifically thorough. Laundry is drying on ropes in the courtyards of houses, the cats realize that it's Carnival in a week and slyly squint at the sun. In general, everything that we felt so keenly in childhood when we came to visit our grandmother in the village, and now we have forgotten a little. It's time to hold hands, smile and remember.
We would recommend Bogoroditsk and Chekalin.

Invite to the concert

Invite your loved one to a concert of classical, modern or alternative music – it doesn't matter. It's just the two of you.

Options:

Wild Mint Camp offers to spend three days in the "Wake up, this is love" atmosphere. Dancing, master classes, wine casino, karaoke, quizzes, film screenings, walks, evening acoustic concerts and that's not all.

"Azaza" has acoustics from "KILLAZ TIME". They promise to perform world hits. Candles, romance, guitar, saxophone, and probably at such moments you clearly begin to realize that the evening was a success and spring is just around the corner.

Gingerbread love-story

If suddenly the romantic collection is not your love story, then try to make a gingerbread together at the Gingerbread Museum in the Kremlin. Well, firstly, it's teamwork, secondly, you will receive a delicious present, and thirdly, you will learn even more about gingerbread than it says in the Gingerbread Wikipedia. Most importantly, it's not boring at all.

Well, and a few more places where you can invite your loved ones on a date. But remember, there are plenty of other great places in Tula that you can choose here, we will only be glad.

Tea "Chaika"

An unobtrusive, free and self–absorbed tea shop, where you need to try a samovar blend, all desserts, but especially we note - "Not Pavlova with coconut cream and blueberries." Inside there is a relaxed atmosphere, a well-balanced menu and no fuss. It's a great choice for romantics.

Address: the territory of the Iskra quarter

11/1 Sovetskaya Street

Cheburechnaya on Sovetskaya

One of the few establishments in Tula that has preserved all the authenticity of the Soviet era, even though it appeared in the noughties. Not exactly a shot glass, but not a dumpling either. Chebureks are on the same level. Donuts (donuts in St. Petersburg) are also delicious. It's not a bad place for anyone who is against romance, mimicry and likes to be nostalgic for the time when trees were big and the great Soviet cinematography. Well, or he wants to spend February 14th in an original way. The choice is yours.

Ul. Sovetskaya, 16.

Lil Peel

An author's shot glass, which in fact is much more than just a shot glass. It's fun, intelligent, unusual, and even flirtatious. There are a lot of strong drinks on the bar, but to immerse yourself in the context, try distillates. It's for love.

The territory of the Iskra quarter.

Sovetskaya St., 11.

Shavella

A small shawarma with some fuss inside, an ordinary interior, but a delicious shawarma that is worth a little wait. An ideal choice for couples who want to remember how great it was for them to be students, or for those who love each other instead of flowers, hearts and candles, and not formalities.
