The Yasnaya Polyana Museum Estate will host the VII Tolstoy Theater Festival from July 7-9, 2023. This year's festival is dedicated to the novel "Anna Karenina" – 150 years ago Leo Tolstoy started working on this work.
The Tolstoy Festival was organized on the initiative of Alexey Dyumin, Governor of the Tula Region, and is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation (as part of the national Culture project). In 2023, Tolstoy includes nine venues and more than 50 events. An extensive educational program "Tolstoy's Word" has been prepared and for the first time in the history of the festival, the film program "Cinema Time". The central event will be the Bolshoi Ballet "Anna Karenina". The full program is on the website tolstoyfestival.ru
We recommend that you arrive at the festival an hour and a half before the start of the selected performance. Festival guests will need time to park, walk to the stage (for example, from the museum parking lot to the Main Stage for at least 40 minutes on foot), and take their place in the auditorium. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the festival map on the website tolstoyfestival.ru
Additional flights will be added to the public transport timetable from July 7 to July 9, 2023. All three festival days routes No. 114K (Shchekino – Tula), No. 117K (Shchekino – Tula), No. 280 (Tula – Shchekino – Sovetsk) and No. 102 (Shevelevka village – Shchekino Narsud – Yasnaya Polyana) will be open until 01:00.
Owners of private vehicles will be able to park in the free museum parking lot, as well as in the free parking lot in Pervomaisky village, from where a shuttle service will be arranged to the museum.
During the festival, a transfer will be organized along three routes:
Traditionally, the Tolstoy Festival is held in the open air. According to weather forecasts, it will be warm in the Yasnaya Polyana area during the festival: temperatures from +19 to +28 degrees are expected during the day, and from +16 to +19 degrees at night.
We advise festival guests not to forget to wear sun hats and sunscreen. And we recommend that visitors to evening events dress warmly. Outerwear and a blanket will help you stay warm during performances.
Precipitation is possible during the festival, so we ask guests not to forget umbrellas and raincoats.
Yasnaya Polyana is a large nature reserve, for this reason we recommend choosing comfortable waterproof shoes for the festival. This is especially important for those who plan to participate in walking performances.
On the eve of the festival, the territory of the Yasnaya Polyana Nature Reserve was treated against mosquitoes and ticks, but repellents will not be superfluous.
There will be a food court with food and drinks at the festival, but we advise festival guests to bring a bottle of water and a thermos of hot tea. The food court area will be located near the Forge (the descent to the right of the Stable).
Souvenirs in a new style were released especially for the Tolstoy Festival in 2023. It will be available for purchase at the festival venues.
WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU IN YASNAYA POLYANA!
