Lecture "Pyatnitskaya Street: owners and neighbors of house No. 25"

On September 24, 2022, a lecture "Pyatnitskaya Street: owners and neighbors of house No. 25" will be held at the L. N. T. Cultural and Exhibition complex (Tula, Metallistov str., 25). It will be read by the famous Tula local historian and historian Sergey Demidov. His speech will open a series of lectures on the history of Tula, which will be held at L. N. T. as part of the exhibition "My address is always Tula." The lecturer will talk about the formation and development of Pyatnitskaya Street (Metallistov), which has become a Museum Quarter, as well as about the owners and neighbors of house No. 25, which houses the L. N. T. cultural and exhibition complex. Visitors will learn how long this house was built by the merchant E. H. Kuchin, as well as about the fate of the cinema opened here by the next owner of the house, the merchant V. A. Matveev.

No less interesting and noteworthy are Kuchin's neighbors, the owners of nearby houses – the Shemetov merchants, the famous Tula gingerbread man M. G. Belolipetsky and his heirs, the Tula mayor A.M. Postnikov. At various times in this part of Pyatnitskaya Street there was a gingerbread factory and a pharmacy, a tavern and one of the first breweries in Tula, as well as shops and a poker club.

The lecture starts at 17:00.

Admission is by ticket. The ticket price is 100 rubles. Tickets can be purchased on site before the start of the event.
