The Tolstoy International Theater Festival has received a special prize from the Young Festivals of Russia and Europe competition

On November 16, 2019, the results of the "Young Festivals of Russia and Europe" competition, held as part of the VIII St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum, were summed up. Out of 150 applications, 11 young regional Russian festivals entered the final. They were presented to the members of the EFF International Jury (the project "Europe for Festivals – Festivals for Europe") and the Winners of the EFF Prize 2019.

Following the presentation, the EFF International Jury selected three winners of the competition: the forum-festival of social and inclusive theater "Special View" (Moscow); the Ural Music Night Festival (Yekaterinburg) and the Tolstoy International Theater Festival (Tula Region). The winners will be marked with the "Recommended by the EFF" sign and included in a special database of festivals.

EFF is an initiative created by the European Association of Festivals with the support of the European Commission and Parliament. The EFF Recommendation is a European quality mark for outstanding art festivals, demonstrating their artistic and social significance, as well as their openness at the international level.

The Tolstoy International Theater Festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Tula Region and Rostec State Corporation. The festival offers fresh ideas and images that directors from different regions of Russia and the world find in the literary and natural heritage of Yasnaya Polyana. His program not only connects history and modernity, but also unites people of different ages and interests.
