Employees of the branch of the Historical Museum in Tula are preparing for publication on social networks the first series of the project "Pyatnitskaya – Metallistov. Houses and their inhabitants." These are short stories about houses and events that took place here or related to the street that forms Russia's first Museum Quarter.

Metallistov Street, formerly Pyatnitskaya Street, where the GIM branch is located, has remained different in the memory of Tula residents.

Her story is recorded in documents, scientific research, books, on the pages of newspapers and magazines. The houses and streets are recognizable in photographs from both the early twentieth and early nineteenth centuries. Historians and local historians have studied the history of each building on the street. However, so far, research and memories are scattered.

The purpose of the project is based on historical facts to tell about the buildings of the street, their inhabitants and owners, who have changed repeatedly, churches that were destroyed and continue to receive parishioners, significant events; to recall forgotten details that accompanied the daily life of Tulyaks, whose fate is connected with Pyatnitskaya-Metallist.

Tula local historians Vladimir Shcherbakov, Konstantin Strukov, Sergey Gusev, Olga Vostrikova, and Yulia Kornakova became the first narrators along with the guides and employees of the GIM branch in Tula.

The Pyatnitskaya – Metallistov project. Houses and their inhabitants" are also the emotional memories of Tula residents, who remember how trolleybuses walked through Metallists, how collectives from the Central District of Tula gathered here to take part in the May Day and November demonstrations, and how military equipment was stationed here before the May 9 parade.

Work on the project continues. Residents of the city, whose biography is connected with Metallist Street, are invited to participate in the filming.

With the first episodes of the project "Pyatnitskaya – Metallistov. Houses and their inhabitants" will be available on the accounts of the GIM branch in Tula starting in October.

Presentation of the project "Pyatnitskaya – Metallistov. Houses and their inhabitants" will be held on October 5 at 16:00 in the branch of the Historical Museum at Metallistov, 10. Everyone is invited. Admission is free.
