We are developing the tourism potential of the region
On July 21, Tula State University awarded diplomas to the winners of the open competition "Tula Region is not just a carrot and a samovar."

Open competition "Tula Region is not only a carrot and a samovar" It was conducted by an initiative group of TulSU students with the support of Committee of the Tula Region for Tourism Development and the Ministry of Youth Policy of the Tula region. The project was organized with a grant from Rosmolodezh within the framework of the All-Russian youth forum "Territory of Meanings", which was held in the Tula region in 2021. Veronika Salnik, a student at the Institute of Pedagogy, Physical Education, Sports and Tourism, was the author and leader of the project.

The competition was attended by 204 people with 236 creative works in four categories:

  • "Take a look around" is a photo contest showing unique places and views of the Tula region.
  • Tula Switzerland is a photo contest dedicated to small settlements in the Tula region.
  • "Unexplored trails" is a competition of tourist routes passing through the territory of the Tula region.
  • "Self-made tablecloth" competition of local authentic culinary recipes of the Tula region.

Vice-rector for Educational Work Eduard Sergeyevich Temnov and Head of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Irina Yurievna Ponomareva came to congratulate the winners and present memorable diplomas.

The graduation ceremony was also attended by Elena Georgievna Martynova, Director of the Tula Region Tourism Development Agency Regional Foundation:

"I want to mention the very idea of the contest and the name. We have stereotypes that are very hard to fight. Tula is primarily associated with the samovar, gingerbread and Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy. But this competition and just such content on social networks allows us to get to know the region better ourselves and tell potential tourists that Tula is different. Let's tell our neighbors and the whole of Russia that the Tula region is a region for living, where it is comfortable to relax and work."

In their creative works, the participants noted the transformation of the regional center, landscaping in small towns of the region. Works dedicated to Conduits, farmsteads and parks were also submitted to the competition. The project has affected many tourist destinations and areas. There is, for example, a work dedicated to folk crafts — the tourist route "Toys with Tula character".

According to the results of the competition, 24 works were selected by the expert commission and 3 works were revealed during a free vote on social networks.

The "Take a Look around" nomination was won by Valeria Nedobezhkina and Evgenia Dikova (in the 25+ age group).

Nomination"Tula Switzerland"— Victoria Somerfeld.

Nomination"Unexplored paths" — Arina Andreeva and Vadim Vyazankin (in the age group of 25+).

Nomination"Self-made tablecloth"— Lydia Olla and Irina Shishova (in the age group of 25+).

The Audience Award went to Vlada Korsukova, Viktor Popov and Tatiana Kondratenko.

"I participated in the "Self-made Tablecloth" nomination and presented the dish "Cottage cheese bagels with nettles and raspberries." I like baking, it's my hobby, so I decided to participate in this particular nomination. The competition allowed me to improve my skills in this craft, so it's a rewarding experience for me. In any case, I'm happy with my result, but I didn't expect to take first place," Lidia Olla, a student at the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, shared her experience of participating in the competition.

"The teacher advised me to take part in the competition. Besides, I had a lot of photos of the Tula region. I chose the "Look Around" nomination and presented a photo of the Romantsev Mountains. It is an extraordinarily beautiful place. I love visiting it, because nature always calms me down, makes me dream and helps me to be alone with my thoughts," Alyona Aliyeva, a student at the Institute of Pedagogy, Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, who took the third place, told about her creative work.

The exhibition of competitive works is located in the passage between the main and ninth buildings of TulSU (Lenin Avenue, 92).
