The tourist map of Tula in augmented reality format won First place in the nomination "The best tourist map of the region" at the All-Russian tourist award "Route of the Year"
map.pngThe map contains fourteen tourist sites in augmented reality format. The map is designed in retrowave style. For the user to interact with the AR-card, it is enough to install the Visit Tula application and follow the instructions. In addition to key tourist sites, the map also shows the location and contacts of four dozen popular points to visit: museums, public spaces and creative clusters.

From November 24 to November 26, Perm hosted the final of the VIII All-Russian Tourist Award "Route of the Year-2021". This award is awarded based on the results of an open project competition for achievements in the field of creating and developing new destinations for travelers. Augmented Reality tourist Map from The Tula Region Tourism Development Agency Regional Foundation won 1st place in the nomination "The Best Tourist Map of the region".

Using your smartphones, you can see the following objects: Tula Kremlin, Kulikovo Field Museum Reserve, Yasnaya Polyana Museum Estate, V.D. Polenov Museum Reserve, Romantsev Mountains, Tula State Museum of Weapons, Museum Quarter, Kazanskaya Embankment, Oktava Cluster, P.P. Belousov Central Park, Likerka Loft public space, Arsenal Stadium, Bogoroditsky Palace Museum and Park, Memorial to the Defenders of the Fatherland Sky. All objects in augmented reality were created from scratch using photogrammetry – the buildings were carefully and meticulously photographed from all sides using quadrocopters, and then digitized. And to immerse the user in a special atmosphere in augmented reality, real sounds of the city are used. Augmented reality makes it possible not only to view these objects from different angles, to enlarge, but also to immerse a person more fully with the help of sound and animations.

The objects are made in the retrowave genre, which is an absolutely unique experience for the Russian tourism industry - this format is used for the first time in the industry. Visually, this refers to the style of early computers, virtual reality, as it was imagined by science fiction and writers, so each object is equipped with a special color scheme and effects.

The map will be available to users from Monday, November 29, at tourist information centers.

Augmented reality (AR) is a new popular technology that brings digital data into the real, physical world using any electronic devices. This is a modern format of interaction with consumers, including in the tourism sector. Creating routes and maps in augmented reality helps the user to get to know an object before visiting it, zoom in, and rotate it. This will help you better plan your time to stay in a particular location and prepare.
