And journalist, writer and photographer Igor Kopytov will show the guests the striped mustachioed ones from his personal collection.
On the eve of International Cat Day, which is celebrated on August 8, the Tula Exotarium has prepared an unusual project – an exhibition of photographs of cats that need a loving owner and their own home. Visitors will be able to take any "model" they like home.
This photo exhibition will complement the author's exhibition of cat figurines from the collection of Igor Kopytov, a Tula journalist and photographer, a member of the Union of Journalists of Russia, and a member of the International Literary Fund (Litfond) international organization of writers.
The collector does not call himself a felinophile, which is usually translated as "cat lover", but a cat fan, by analogy with football fans. For him, the main thing is love not for mindless collecting, but for the striped mustachios themselves.
– I'm just a fan of cats! They are constantly present in my life," says Igor Kopytov. – In 1994, when I joined the newspaper Kommunar, my roommate gave me a glass kitten for my birthday. Literally after her, a classmate presented another cat, also made of glass. At the same time, he claimed that he looked very much like me.: "The same pleased face." And off it went!
Now there are about two thousand cats and cats in the collection of Tula. Most of them live on shelves, peacefully adjacent to their home library, which has also long since surpassed more than 7,000 volumes.
The official opening of the exhibition will take place on August 6 at 16.00 in the exhibition hall of the new building of the exotarium in the Central Park named after P. P. Belousov. Visitors will be able to personally communicate with the collector, get information about each model cat from volunteers caring for animals on temporary overexposure.
