The Art and Local History Museum of Teploye

The Art and Local History Museum of Teplo-Ogarevo district was established in 1995. There are items of technology, of numismatics, archeology and ethnography, rare books, phonographic recordings, works of fine art, collections of postcards in the funds of the museum. In the collection of numismatics there are coins from the times of Anna Ioannovna, Catherine II, Paul I, Alexander I, Nicholas I, Alexander II, Nicholas II, scale-coins exposition & quot; The Russian Hut & quot; acquaints the visitors with the life of Russian peasants. There are embroidered towels, floorboards, homespun canvas, chests, clothes, household utensils and other things. Tourists can see elements of ammunition, weapons, and awards in the exposition devoted to the Great Patriotic War. The poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko’s nanny Anna Markina lived in the village of Kazanskoe in Teplo-Ogarevo district. Her personal belongings are preserved in the Local History Museum: there is a notebook, church candles, an awl, scissors, and old portraits of relatives. Several collections of poems with autographs were given to the museum by the great poet. Spindles, arrowheads, ancient copper rings, crosses, harnesses, buttons, horseshoes and many more things are exhibited in the museum. These items are the results of the archaeological excavation on the territory of Teplo-Ogarevo district.
