"Highlights of the Tula region"

The tour is intended for those who come to Yasnaya Polyana for the first time or want to refresh their impressions from a long-time visit to the museum. The group examines the central part of the Yasnaya Polyana estate, the House of Leo Tolstoy, where most of the writer's life was spent, and an exhibition in the Kuzminsky Wing dedicated to the beginning of Tolstoy's creative activity.

The group will learn about sports games in the Tolstoy family, the first school in the Kuzminsky Wing, and the economic activities of Leo Tolstoy. Being on the border of several Yasnaya Polyana forests, tourists will learn about their history, reflection in Tolstoy's work, and hear about why one of them became the writer's burial place.

In the final, those who wish can visit the grave of Leo Tolstoy in the Yasnaya Polyana forest of the Old Order on their own.

We invite you to our interactive program with a master class at the Tulyachok Museum studio, dedicated to the history of the Filimonov toy. The Filimonov toy is a vivid representative of folk art craft – wonderful, original, with sparkling patterns. The clay whistle enchants! You will learn the details of how the toy appeared, what kind of toys there were, their features and applications. At the master class, you will paint the toy in bright colors and take it with you as a souvenir of our meeting.

Tula is an ancient Russian city that served the defense of the Moscow state for centuries, and then became the country's largest arms manufacturer. We invite our guests to take a walk through the quarters of the Old City – you can see Tula almost exactly as Ushinsky, Tolstoy, Saltykov-Shchedrin, and Uspensky saw it. You will walk along the Kremlin Garden and the embankment, opened in September 2018, get acquainted with one of the most beautiful streets of Tula – Metallistov St., which recently became pedestrian, take a photo at the monument "Tula gingerbread". You will get acquainted with the main sights of one of the oldest cities in Russia, learn about the most famous Tulyaks, about the past and about how our city lives now.

You will get acquainted with the history of a unique ancient delicacy that came to us from the depths of the centuries, experienced ups and downs, losses and rebirth. They will tell you about ancient traditions and rituals. They will reveal the secret of making gingerbread. You will have a gingerbread tasting with tea and sweets + a master class on baking gingerbread. They will pack everything beautifully for you and take it with you.
