Bogoroditsky Palace-Museum and park
Bogoroditsk was founded in 1663 by order of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich. It was here that the estate of the illegitimate son of Catherine II and Grigory Orlov, Alexei Bobrinsky, was located with the first landscape park in Russia by Andrei Bolotov, and the first children's theater in Russia was born here. The exposition "Station of the Third Minister" tells about the history of railways, the appearance of the station in the city of Bogoroditsk and the contribution of three representatives of the family of Counts Bobrinsky to the construction of railways. Here you can see the model of the station in the year of its opening (1874), models of steam locomotives, as well as documents, photographs, items of uniforms, everyday life, etc.
Bogoroditsky Center of Folk Culture and Crafts
Bogoroditsky region is extremely rich in traditional folk cultural heritage. To date, the work of the Center has gained great fame both in the district and the region, and beyond. There is an exhibition hall at the center, where household items from the early 19th century and ancient folk costumes are presented. The pride of the center is the exhibition hall of the Russian Style exhibition and sale, where the works of amateur and professional masters of decorative and applied arts and artists, who are in great demand among tourists today, are presented.
