The Dubna Local Lore Museum

The Dubna Local Lore Museum фото 1
The Dubna Local Lore Museum was opened on July 16, 1988. The museum exhibition comprises separate thematic complexes. In the "Archaeology" section, visitors can learn about the history of the region. It contains exhibits related to the Stone, Bronze, Iron ages (ancient settlement of "Osh Pando," "Plate", etc.). Monuments from the excavations by the famous scientist P.D. Stepanov are of special value, who carried out research in this area on the territory of the Dubensky district for several years. Visitors of the museum pay great attention to the layout of the peasant izba (in-house) of the 19th century. This part of the exhibit reproduces the interior of in-house and its "masters" occupied by traditional peasant crafts – making bast shoes and thread spinning. Information about the peasant wars under the leadership of Stepan Razin (1670) and Yemelyan Pugachev (1773-1775) in Volga region is also reflected in the exhibits. One of the sections of the exhibition hall tells about the monuments of Church architecture.
