Museum of the Zemstvo in Krapivna

The museum is located in the building where the offices of the Krapiven district, the police department and the treasury were located in the 19th century. Leo Tolstoy visited here on official and public business several times: in the 1860s, the writer was the mediator of the 4th Krapivensky district, at the same time and later he actively participated in the work of the zemstvo self-government bodies and magistrate courts, opened schools in the county.

The Zemstvo Museum, which brings to life the rich experience of local self–government, not only reveals one of the brightest pages of our country's life, but also highlights the importance of the heritage created by the works of the best representatives of post-Reform society in the mid-19th and early 20th centuries, including Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy.

The 1st floor exposition is dedicated to the history of the city:

1. Fortress city of the Zasechnaya line
2. County town – urban planning history (Catherine's reform, regular plans, exemplary facades, interiors, etc. settlement now)
3. The history of the House is the residential house of the Shchelin noblemen (the history of the family); the public building is the offices, the police department, the treasury; the Soviet period is an orphanage and a school; the house as a symbol.

2nd floor - Museum of the Zemstvo. The history of the country's social life in the mid-19th and early 20th centuries. There are three meta-themes in the exhibition: at the state, all-Russian level; province and county; L. N. Tolstoy) .

The tour lasts 1.2 hours.

Guided tours of the exhibition are available by prior request.

200 rubles – a visit to the entire museum with guided tours for one visitor.

100 rubles – preferential categories (pensioners, students, schoolchildren)

The minimum groups for guided tours are 5 people.

Self–examination - 100 rubles per person, 50 rubles – preferential categories.
