The sights of the town of Yefremov in Tula Region have both a landscape and literature-related nature. The fact is that the great Russian writer Ivan Bunin once lived in this ancient town. In his works, he described the local region called Krasivomechye.
In general, a huge number of tourist sites dedicated to the writer can be found among the attractions of Yefremov. One of them is the city park named after Ivan Bunin, which appeared quite recently. In the center, there is a large monument to the writer, where the no longer young Ivan Alekseyevich sits pensively on a bench and touches autumn leaves with a cane. He must be remembering his first collection of poems, Falling Leaves. In addition to this sculpture, monuments to Bunin can be seen at the railway station and at another attraction of Yefremov: the house-museum of Ivan Bunin, where he lived and where he often visited his relatives.
The natural component of the area is magnificent. It may be said that the Krasivaya Mecha River is perhaps the best sight of Yefremov. If a wonderful view opens up to it from the observation deck in the town itself, then the landscapes become indescribably fabulous to the east of the federal highway M4. In order to appreciate the beauty of this area, you need to go there in person. Horse Stone, Witch Hills, Krasnogorie, Ishutinskoye settlement, the snow-white feather-grass steppe – this is just a small part of the best sights of Krasivomechye. These tourist sites have no address, but we have marked them on the map on our website so that they can be easily found. Most importantly, don’t forget to take a great photo!
