The chief of all the angels is Michael the Archangel. His name appears in many chapters of both the Old and New Testaments. According to church tradition, the most powerful but arrogant Lucifer had decided to lead the Kingdom of Heaven, for which he was cast down from heaven by devoted to God Michael.
Since then, Michael the Archangel had become the commander-in-chief of the Heavenly Forces and in the hour of Judgment Day, he was prepared for a serious and responsible role.
People revere the Archangel as the defender of the dead and the victor over the forces of evil. He is often depicted in frescoes and icons with a spear in his hands but there are images where he stands with a shield and a sword in flames.
The Church of the Michael the Archangel in Tula was consecrated in 2011. It is located in the territory of the Tula State University at 84Д Lenin Ave. The Church is a quadrangle made of timber with a zvonnitsa (bell tower) over the church porch (pictured).
The Church of the Michael the Archangel is also known for the fact that the icons here, even being written not by hand but being printed reproductions, sometimes secrete myrrh!
You may witness such a miracle! To do this, just turn off the main street of the city into the courtyard of the Polytechnic University. Welcome!
