Holy Cross Square

The Chelyuskintsy Square, which was called the Kazan Square before 1934, was renamed to the Holy Cross Square in 2007, by the decision of the Tula City Duma.

In the summer of 2018, the square found a new life. Nowadays, it is one of the favorite places of Tula citizens and city visitors: on hot summer days, it is nice to relax on the bench by the refreshing fountain. In the evening, the fountain lights turn on and its water acquires bright iridescent colors. The alley from the fountain in the center of the Holy Cross Square smoothly turns into a pedestrian Metallistov Street, where one may go after a rest.

The square connects three of the most popular tourist spots in Tula: The Kremlin, Metallistov Street and the Embankment. In the center there is a stunning fountain, which in the evening becomes musical and shimmers with colorful illumination. Benches are set up around the fountain, so after a walk in the Kremlin or along Metallistov Street, you can take a break before the next location and relax - have a coffee with Tula gingerbread!
